Thursday’s weather: More rough seas predicted between Saldanha and Plettenberg

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for damaging waves that may cause difficult sea navigation between Saldanha Bay and Plettenberg Bay. Small harbours and ports between Plettenberg Bay and Port Alfred, reaching Port Edward may also be affected.

The weather in your province: 

Gauteng will be fine and cool.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Mpumalanga will be fine and cool but warm in places on the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be fine in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but cool in places in the central areas.

It will be fine and cool in the North West.

The Free State will be fine and cool.

Conditions will be fine and cool in the Northern Cape, but partly cloudy in the south-west.

It will be cloudy at first in the south, where it will be cold to very cold.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the morning, becoming moderate to fresh south-easterly from the afternoon but strong in the evening.

In the Western Cape, it will be cloudy and cold with light rain in the west from the early morning, spreading along the south coast thereafter.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly, but strong along the south coast at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming moderate south-easterly along the west coast from the evening.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

In the western half of the Eastern Cape, it will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cold with isolated showers along the coast and adjacent interior.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong westerly.

Conditions in the eastern half of the province will be fine and cool but cold in the north, becoming cloudy in the south by afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be light-westerly, becoming fresh south-westerly from late morning.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and cool and warm in the north-east, becoming partly cloudy in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-westerly north of Durban in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly.
