  • The Durban July is back, and actor Linda Mtoba is excited to see all the fashion.
  • The sporting and social event will take place on 2 July at the Greyville Racecourse.
  • Here Mtoba gives her top three tips for attending the event.

Sticking to the theme of an event can always spark a debate among creatives. For actor and influencer Linda Mtoba, themed events have always brought the fun to life.

Mtoba is among the confirmed media personalities expected to attend the 125th Hollywoodbets Durban July at the Greyville Racecourse on 2 July.

This is the first public attended Durban July event post-Covid-19.

The mother of one is known to go all out for an event. At the 2019 edition of the horse race, she was decked out in a leopard print number.

“Who doesn’t want to be a part of the Durban July. I mean, it’s another event where people can look glamorous and enjoy the outdoors.

“The fact that the Durban July is back and seeing people that I haven’t seen in a very long time and of course the fashion,” she said.

According to Mtoba, this year’s theme, ‘Show me the Honey,’ is really up for interpretation and can be fun.

“Sticking to a theme is really important. You have to honour the invite. You have to stick to the theme or don’t bother going. It’s not your party. But if a theme is involved, I take it very seriously because I love them,” she told Channel24.

The three things to remember when going to the Durban July Mtoba advises are an extra pair of comfortable shoes, a jacket and a power bank.

“Expect a lot of walking. If you have a pair of sneakers, pack them and pack a warm jacket. Because once it hits 16:00, the temperature drops hectically.

“Be prepared to have lots of fun; bring a power bank if you must charge your phone because there will be capturing of a lot of moments and mingling,” said Mtoba.
