The KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department has warned motorists travelling on the N2 in the province to be cautious as some areas have been severely damaged by the floods last week.

The Transport Department said the N2 going towards Durban after the Ultra City has collapsed and the detour is through rural areas.

The N2 coming from Durban after the Ultra City is in the process of collapsing and the detour is through Umkomaas onto the R102 the old main road into Scottburgh.

The R102 has washed away before the Scottburgh Mall, this means that all traffic is now diverted through Umkomaas and Scottburgh suburbs.

Motorists are warned that traffic is expected to be horrendous on Tuesday when people return to work.
