Deenadayalan Sivalingam (68), known as Anand, went missing on May 19 and has not made contact with his family since.

His niece, Pam Thaver, said he was asked to accompany his friend to Durban to visit his friend’s son.

Thaver said:

“My uncle never returned. When we questioned his friend, who returned the next day, he told us that he left my uncle at the Durban taxi rank. We have been searching in Pietermaritzburg and Durban, but it is as if he just disappeared off the face of the earth.”

Sivalingam is approximately 1,6 m tall and was last seen wearing black pants, a blue jacket with “Sport” written on the side and a white cap.

He was last seen in the company of an Indian man. It is believed that they were en route to Durban and may be in the Kenville area.

Thaver said that her family is concerned for Sivalingam’s safety and is urging the community to assist them. “He has a 93-year-old mother and four sisters who are worried about him.

“Please, if anyone has seen him or knows of his whereabouts, please assist us!” urged Thaver.
